I Might Become Boring This Year!

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how deeply intertwined our lives are with nature, the cosmos, and even the smallest habits we adopt. It’s fascinating how our bodily functions, societal influences, and personal choices align—or sometimes clash—with the natural rhythms of the universe.

When everything is in sync, life flows effortlessly, like a well-composed symphony. But when it’s out of tune, the chaos can feel overwhelming.

Think about how you feel when you spend a day in nature—a walk in the woods, breathing fresh air, or sitting by the ocean. It’s calming, isn’t it? That’s because these moments restore the natural rhythm in our bodies.

I first realised this when I was in Goa, last year!

On the other hand, a rushed day in the city, with constant notifications and deadlines, throws everything off balance.

These contrasting experiences show how sensitive we are to our environment and habits.

So I have decided to make some changes. Below’s why!

I lived in Denial for Years!

For years, I lived in denial, ignoring the signs that my mental/physical health needed care. I told myself I was fine.

Society teaches us to be strong, to push through discomfort, and to wear busyness as a badge of honor. I was caught up in that mindset, but deep down, I knew something was wrong.

There were days when I woke up feeling completely drained, yet I powered through. I blamed my exhaustion on external factors and convinced myself that life was meant to be this way—inescapable.

I never paused to ask myself, “Am I truly okay?”

It was only when I started listening to that quiet inner voice that I realized I needed to make changes.

Habits That Didn’t Serve Me (But Taught Me a Lot)

We all have habits that aren’t the best for us, yet they often serve a purpose at some point in our lives. Here are mine:

Staying Up Late Nights

Staying up until dawn, engrossed in books or YouTube videos about philosophy and science, felt exhilarating. It was my way of seeking meaning in life, even if it left me exhausted the next day.

Ignoring Food

I never paid attention to having timely meals. I used to say, “I’m not a big fan of eating,” as an excuse to neglect my nutrition so I could do other things that I enjoyed.

Work Practices

Overworking or taking on responsibilities beyond my role helped me secure a position that I feel okay about today. It gave me the stability I once dreamed of, even though it came at the cost.

This doesn’t mean I’m an exceptionally high performer. However, my dedication brought me into the spotlight with leaders and introduced me to mentors at various stages of life.

They taught me valuable lessons and showed me ways to succeed while also living a balanced life.

Partying

Partying and late-night hangouts were a way for me to meet incredible people and taught me about communication, empathy, and the importance of friendship. How to stay with society, also taught me how different people think!

But am I proud? I guess no as I believe everything happens for a reason. Hence I share this. These habits weren’t inherently bad—they played a role in shaping who I am.

But as I reflect, I know they’re not sustainable for the life I want to lead.

Why I’m Ready for Change

Lately, I’ve realized that true harmony comes from aligning with the natural rhythms of life and body.

Imagine how the planets orbit the sun or how the tides rise and fall—everything in the cosmos operates in perfect synchronization.

I believe our bodies are meant to follow similar patterns. When we disrupt these rhythms, we feel out of sync, both physically and mentally.

In ancient times, life revolved around nature. People rose with the sun, worked with their hands, and connected deeply with their surroundings. There was wisdom in that simplicity.

I’ve come to understand that to explore the universe’s deeper secrets, I need a healthy, harmonious mind. My curiosity about these secrets of life fuels my desire to live intentionally.

Knowing Is Easy, Doing Is Hard

I’ll admit it—knowing what to do is much easier than putting it into practice. I know I should sleep earlier, eat healthier, and slow down.

But the distractions of modern life make it challenging.

For example, after a long day, it’s tempting to scroll endlessly on my phone instead of meditating or journaling. Social media feels easier than self-reflection. Similarly, when I’m rushing between tasks, grabbing snacks instead of real food feels more convenient than cooking a nutritious meal.

It’s a cycle many of us fall into, even when we know better.

Small Steps Toward Harmony

Despite the challenges, I’m committed to making small, meaningful changes. Here’s what I’m focusing on:

  • Prioritizing Rest: Sleep is the foundation of everything. Without it, nothing else works.
  • Mindful Moments: Even five minutes of meditation or deep breathing can make a difference.
  • Eat Food: I’m learning to see food as fuel, not just a quick fix for hunger.
  • Journaling/blogging: Writing my thoughts helps me slow down and reflect.
  • Movement: Whether it’s a walk, staying active keeps me grounded.
  • Choose people wisely: I might try connecting with people who share similar curiosity and values.
  • Strengthening Connections: I’m investing in relationships that uplift me and gently distancing myself from those that drain me.

Why I’m Sharing This

Writing this feels like having a conversation with my past self. It’s my way of processing, learning, and connecting with you. This blog will remain on the internet for as long as I maintain my hosting account and renew the domain.

It might reach people who are struggling with lesser-discussed challenges of the modern world or those who simply enjoy reading blogs. Perhaps it will spark something within the reader to embark on their own journey.

Also, this is how I repay my Rishi Rinh.

We’re all on this journey together, learning as we go.
